Fantasy Heroes 4

Painted back in the first quarter of this year, here is the bulk of a Hordes of the Things Undead army from Alternative Armies. Nice figures that are very easy to paint and capture the fell nature of the army well.

The  whole force

Skeleton Hordes

Wights and Ghouls

Bone chucker

Hoping to get some work in progress pictures posted over the next few days.

Cheers for now.

Fury of the North 19

Been having a period of low hobby motivation over the last month with added issues from back pain that is not enabling long periods of sitting for painting.

Here are some pictures from the end of the VII Analogue Painting Challenge and Penda the Last Saxon King

Figures from Gripping Beast's Germanic Tribes/Saxon range and are full of Dark Age character. Only the lead figure was painted here as this was a part of the challenge to paint as a team; in this case with Russ G

Hopefully will be able to start spending sometime on the hobby over the next few months as the lead mountain won't be scaled any other way.

Cheers for now

Back to the Brushes 127

Whilst looking for something entirely different in the lead mountain this golden oldie was re-discovered.

A wizard from Citadel in 1984 and one of the very first, if not the first lead miniature painted here. Looks to be in need of a dettol bath and a new "coat."

This figure has his own sound track too which can be found below:

Thats all for now

Cheers

Fantasy Heroes 3

Some recently finished Rangers from this year's Analogue Painting Challenge. From left to right, a Citadel Ranger of Ithilien, Lone Wolf and an AD&; ranger. All from the early and mid eighties.

When times allows the remaining figures from the Rangers of Ithilien and AD&D sets will be completed as they are partially painted at present.

Cheers for now

Fantasy Heroes 2

Another set of pictures of figures painted pre challenge that have recently been fully based. This time the theme is Clerics and Paladins. All figures are 28mm in scale and are from Grenadier, Ral Partha and Reaper.

A Fighting Man from Grenadier to the front

A Cleric from Ral Partha to the front

A Fighter/Cleric from Reaper to the front

Another Fighting Man from Grenadier to the front

Some great figures here that were a pleasure to paint and base.

More Ranger types to follow soon.

Fury of the North 18

A new entry under the Fury of the North heading this evening; not Vikings this time but their descendants, the Normans.

Four recently painted Normans that are the start of a four point Norman or Early Crusader SAGA warband. The figures are all from Wargames Foundry and are on the smaller side of 28mm.

For their age these figures are still great sculpts and were a pleasure to paint. Good clean sculpts, well cast and exceptionally detailed.

Another four are waiting in the sides for the painting Challenge to finish so that they may be started.

More finished work to follow shortly.

Cheers for now.

Fantasy Heroes

During the painting challenge some Ranger types for fantasy skirmish gaming have been getting painted. To compliment these the figures below have been rebased to the same style and standard.

All are from Citadel and there are from left to right, Aragorn, Aragorn, Ranger of Ithilien, Ranger Ithilien.

These were painted between 1989 and 2014 as some have been stripped back and repainted.

More in a similar light to follow shortly.
