Back to the Brushes 158

April has seen a change in pace and a rebasing project for a friend started and finished. A large quantity of 15mm British Napoleonics have been slowly removed from their original bases of card and plastic card and rebased on more substantial bases from Warbases in the form of MDF.

The debris is removed prior to the gluing starting
The rebased miniatures await collection by their owner for varnishing and flocking; flocking glad that's not something to be done here.

Some of the hairy arsed Highlanders as the rebasing progresses.

Hope to see these figures soon in either Command and Colours or Shako type games.

Next post will focus on work in progress assuming the technology doesn't completely fail; have had to resort to using phone to take images, uploading to Google Photo and then importing into blog as having serious issues with hard-drive on desktop. These first world problems are so testing.

Cheers for now

Back to the Brushes 26

A few WIP pictures of various items that are on the painting table at present. Firstly, there are more foederati for the Late Romans. This base will represent a veteran or command stand in the allied troops  complete with priest, standard and raving dog.

The figures are from Gripping Beast and the front three shields are all hand painted. Hopefully will manage to get a few more completed on this stand over the weekend.

Next up is another Impetus based project, this time the Late Romans in 10mm. These figures have been gathering dust since a failed Warmaster Ancients purchase and very nearly went on sale recently. They were saved from the auctions by a few nearby gamers playing Impetus in 15mm, so they are being slowly painted and based for Impetus on bases for 15mm games. The figures are from Pendraken and are surprisingly good to paint.

The last two pictures are of ongoing rebasing projects for Napoleonics for Age of Eagles and Shako and the English Civil War for Impetus Baroque. Slow progress is being made on both, with the English Civil War being nearest to completion.

Thats all for now.

Cheers

Back to the Brushes 24

Due to some excellent weather there hasn't been much hobby time over the last week. Still daunted by the prospect of finishing the basing on the 15mm Napoleonics shown below:

The figures have all been based for Age of Eagles, but will also be used for Shako 2 depending on what is being played. At least in this stage they will see the table.

Each stand will have a wash in Devlan Mud or whatever it is now called before being having sand and flock glued to the base. In real terms this will be an ongoing project completed on a regiment by regiment basis, as to tackle this all in one sitting would be soul destroying to say the least.

Hopefully, there will be some more productive painting coming up soon and before the close a warm welcome to:

Hopefully, you'll find somethings of interest here and keep coming back. On that matter, thanks to all for the support in helping this blog pass it's twenty-five thousand hits. Its much appreciated here.

Cheers for now.
