Back to the Brushes 419

It has been a few weeks since the last post, the Easter holidays have come and gone - way to fast - and it's now time to get back to the brushes.

This post shows the start of another ancients project; the Early Imperial Roman army.  At this stage it is purely that as no decisions on basing or gaming systems have been made just yet.

The bulk of the figures were acquired during the great hording also known as Lock Down and include Warlord Games plastics and Foundry in white metal.

The figures above are for scale between Warlord Games (LHS) and Foundry (RHS).

Syrian archers that came partially painted; their robes are changing colour to match a Peter Connolly illustration of the siege of Jerusalem. No reason other than that book has been with me for around fifty years now.

Classic Legionaries in lorica segmentata with pila. These figures also came partially painted and are in the process of have their flesh painted. It's old school now but I always start from the inside out, so flesh first.

There will be more to follow including some finished items from last month.

Cheers for now.
