Back to the Brushes 111

A single figure of unknown make or manufacturer that was picked up at Carronade 2016 for the vast sum of twenty pence. Anyone have any thoughts on who made it?

None shall pass!
For use in Songs of Blades and Heroes or similar fantasy skirmish.

There will be some ACW figures to follow shortly.

Cheers for now

A few scenery pieces that have been completed lately for use in a variety of skirmish games including Dead Man's Hand, Songs of Blades and Heroes, SAGA and anything else that suits.

All of these are from Hovels and are 25/28mm in scale.

With a Rebel Yell 5

Another batch of 15mm ACW Confederate Infantry have been rebased, washed with Agrax Earth stain and matt varnished.

There are five regular stands here and one command with a slightly over trimmed flag. Not paying attention to the outer trim lines leads to no white surround on the CSA flag.  Not the end of the world and this has been done on another stand's flag as well.

The next group of infantry will complete the rebasing of the painted second hand figures leading to the start of painting more stands to bulk out the force for Battle Cry and Fire and Fury. With fifty odd stands to paint there will be more than enough for both.

More work in progress pictures to follow shortly.

Cheers for now.

Back to the Brushes 110

A few small things that are currently being worked on at present. First ly four stand of skirmishers for the Greek/Macedonian ADG army that is slowly getting painted in 6mm. The figures are from Rapier Miniatures.

The right of the picture is a big fellow or 28mm casualty marker from Immortal Miniatures as they were before being  bought over by Warlord Games. This figure is also for a Greek or Macedonian army too.

Above are two command stands for the same 6mm army again from Rapier Miniatures. These are standard figures just based separately to create the command stands. Using up any surplus as the army progresses rather than having a mini lead pile of odds and sods.

There will be some pictures of completed figures and scenery pieces soon.

Cheers for now.

With A Rebel Yell 4

Back to the American Civil War and the rebasing and finishing of  15mm figures from this period. This time there are the artillery pieces, five in all, which will be enough for Battle Cry if tokens are used to depict losses whilst under fire. Sorry some of the pictures are ever so slightly out of focus.

Again not sure of the manufacturer of these figures, possibly Essex or Freikorps? Not that it really matters as they allow games to be played.

The last piece in this set was this "little" mortar. Not sure of its use in game terms, however, it will be used in some fashion in the future.

Next in this range will be more infantry and the start of the cavalry units.

Cheers for now

Dead Man's Hand 6

Returning to the Wild West for a brief flurry with some small pieces of scenery. First up here is the the Wild West version of the "Cludgie" or outdoor loo.

Painted as a test piece for more scenery, this time to be used for the American Civil War. This model has been base coated, washed in various tones to provide that 'lived in' look, dry brushed and highlighted with edging on some of the planks.

Overall very pleased with the end result as was person who it was painted for as the model isn't a part of my personal collection.

The second piece of on the workbench and is being painted in slow stages.

Cheers for now
