With a Rebel Yell 8
At long last this camp base of Basic Impetus Baroque has finally been flocked and pictured.
The figures are believed to be Minifigs and were part of a large collection that has been rebased, toned with Devlan Mud wash or equivalent and matt varnished.
All that remains now is to sort out the surplus wagons and effects for sale and, oh, yeah paint the hundred plus foot and cavalry to complete the armies. Maybe next year?
Cheers for now.

With a Rebel Yell 3
Again, rebased and refinished figures this time from the English Civil War to be used as a camp in Baroque. 15mm figures believed to be from Freikorps.
In time there will be another camp for this period from the same batch of figures.
Cheers for now.

Back to the Brushes 94
Pictured below are some 15mm figures from two very different periods that are both being based at present.
First up are the from Minifigs English Civil War range and are part of a second hand collection that has slowly been rebased and washed in Devlan Mud over the last two or three years.
These figures will be used as camps in Impetus Baroque, which hopefully be returning to the gaming table soon and perhaps the full rules released.
The stands shown here are waiting on the ready mixed plaster drying and are from Missile and SAW support elements. The quick approach to painting these figures is clearly visible here, however once fully based and flocked it won't be that noticable on the table top.

There are still a few figures to paint for this period including some more musket and pike and cavalry.
The second offering this evening are from Ground Zero Games and will be gracing a table in the near future under the rules of Critical Mass.

Next up are some work in progress pictures of the Moors for Impetus

Back to the Brushes 35
Not much has been happening here over the last ten days. Life and work took over for a bit and the inclination to paint just has not been there.
This morning saw some artillery being rebased for Impetus Baroque giving both sides of the English Civil War some clout if needed. Some pictures to follow shortly of these and several other bases for Baroque. Hopefully this will be the motivator to get back to painting and complete the first stand of the Late Roman horse archers for the Equites Primo Sagittarii.
Thats all for now.

And Now for Something Completely Different 6
Really speaking there will be a need to introduce two new themes for the blog to cover the English Civil War and Napoleonics as there will be a fair amount of basing going with these two projects over the next few months. So here are the titles for future reference:
These figures are a part of a second hand collection that is currently being rebased for Baroque.
- Pikes and Muskets - for the English Civil War
- March to the Sounds of Cannons - for the Napoleonics
That said here are the most recently based figures for Pikes and Muskets, unsure of manufacturer but think that these may be from Minifigs:

The Huns will follow shortly as promised.

Back to the Brushes 26
A few WIP pictures of various items that are on the painting table at present. Firstly, there are more foederati for the Late Romans. This base will represent a veteran or command stand in the allied troops complete with priest, standard and raving dog.
The figures are from Gripping Beast and the front three shields are all hand painted. Hopefully will manage to get a few more completed on this stand over the weekend.
Next up is another Impetus based project, this time the Late Romans in 10mm. These figures have been gathering dust since a failed Warmaster Ancients purchase and very nearly went on sale recently. They were saved from the auctions by a few nearby gamers playing Impetus in 15mm, so they are being slowly painted and based for Impetus on bases for 15mm games. The figures are from Pendraken and are surprisingly good to paint.
The last two pictures are of ongoing rebasing projects for Napoleonics for Age of Eagles and Shako and the English Civil War for Impetus Baroque. Slow progress is being made on both, with the English Civil War being nearest to completion.
Thats all for now.
Cheers

Back to the Brushes 7
Just a few work in progress pictures below:
This week has seen a few small started projects move one step closer to completion, with the above being painted in between ink washes drying on some bases that are completed.
The above horses are the only 2 items for Hector's Chariot that will be included in the Analogue Hobbies Painting challenge as everything else was painted prior to the start date.
The pictures below bring to end another project that was started some time ago and is now ready for the gaming table. Basic Baroque English Civil War - the first games was going well but time called an early halt before a formal victor could be named; looks like this could be a popular game in the future.
Hopefully there will be more to follow later this week.
Lastly, a warm welcome to the following new followers:
