Back to the Brushes 370

As the Early Imperial Romans begin to leave the painting table their space is quickly take up by the above figures from AB Miniatures; British Line Infantry for a small 1812 -15 project involving the following regiments:

  • King's German Legion 5th Line Infantry Battalion
  • King's German Legion 8th Line Infantry Battalion
  • King's German Legion 2nd Light Infantry Battalion
  • British 95th Rifles Battalion
  • 42nd Highlander Infantry Battalion (the Black Watch)
The picture above shows the start of the 5th Line Battalion, based on 24 figures per battalion, the same basing model will be used for the other battalions as they progress. In time a several squadrons of cavalry and a small artillery force will be added to round this out.

The strange thing about this project is it's something that was never planned and but for lock down and an interest in "Wellington's Crisis" moment at La Sainte Haye it would never be here.

Watch out for future updates for this...

Cheers for now

Analogue Hobbies Painting Competition Update 8

The next entries to the above competition were sent off a few days ago and have been posted on the host's blog. Its now time to show them on their home site and first up are a few stands of AB Figures 20mm WW2 British Infantry:

These figures are a part of a set of entrenched bases that have been very slowly painted over the last few years. This, however, is them now completed and overall the figures look well, especially when seen with more scenic terrain surrounding them. The AB Figures are excellent quality and clean casts which hold their detail well.

The following pictures are of the first base of javelin armed light infantry for the Mycenaean Impetus Army that is currently in work in progress.

The pictures were taken in two sets with two different lighting conditions. The first set - pictures one through four - with strong natural light from one side and the other set with more subtle artificial lighting conditions. Each has its own merit and yet neither are the conditions sought. More work on acquiring the correct lighting conditions for the next set of finished pictures.

Next up will see some more work in progress on Mycenaean archers, chariot and heavy infantry unit alongside some more dwarves for Songs of Blades and Heroes and 20mm SHQ German artillery crew.

Lastly a warm welcome to:

  • Vasiliy Levashov
  • Andrew

Hopefully both of you will find something of interest here.

Thats all for now.

Cheers

Welcome and update

A very quick post to welcome 2 new followers:

  • Scottz
  • Mike Whitaker
Thanks for following and hopefully you find something of interest here.

Due to an ongoing saga with the "seemless" transfer from one Internet supplier to another - this is being sent from a local library - there have been no posts over the last week, that however, doesn't mean that nothing has been happening. The Mycenaeans have moved on, as have the 20mm WW2 AB figures who are now complete. A speed painting trial has begun for Legends of the High Seas in 28mm but more of that later. Pictures of all to follow shortly when the broadband is reconnected - hopefully.

Cheers for now
